I have always loved shiny and sparkly things, so it was only natural that I became a jeweler.
As a child’s shiny objects attracted me, my mother can attest I was always in her jewelry box. I also found that I loved tools, so it was only natural that I became a jeweler, starting in high school jury class, taught by an amazing teacher, Gizela Shields, her most true and everlasting lesson. The finished piece must be finished on the inside, as well as the outside. This is the one less lesson that led to an apprenticeship with some talented Goldsmiths at the Gold Crucible in Carmel Valley after that I worked in gold manufacturing and then my best years and fondest memories were working with Kirkor Kocek in Carmel. I left to raise wonderful twins and now retired I have fun making whatever jewelry I want.
My husband and I do lapidary, shaping stones, this sometimes adds uniqueness to my designs. My current obsessions are chain making and teaching, still my love of discovering new tools, making tools and buying tools keeps me working. My love of turquoise and southwestern jewelry motivates me to create new works.
Bending and forming metal, making chainmail, combining metal and stones, bring me joy and I would like to share the joy with you.
